Marketing Director

  • Supervised by: Executive Director & Indirect Report to Corporate Marketing Director
  • Supervises: Enrollment Specialist

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Executive Director coordinates the [Asian Heritage Healthcare] marketing efforts. To include presentations to potential referral sources such as community groups; develops new referral sources and maintains referral tracking system and marketing file; works with Corporate Marketing to develop annual marketing plans and written marketing materials.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing is required. Experience in a health or human services field is useful but not required. Marketing or sales experience preferred. Masters Degree preferred.

Experience:

Four (4) years of experience in a Marketing role for a health care provider, or in an information and referral resource role with the senior networks of identified service area.

Medical Clearance:

Employees must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Must have consistent and documented experience in health care or geriatric marketing.
  • Knowledge of customer service and marketing principles and practice.
  • Extensive knowledge of community resources available to seniors and their families.
  • Ability to effectively represent the program to participants, families, outside agencies, community groups, community professionals and the general public.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent public speaking skills for large and small groups.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with community members, referral sources and co-workers.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and to prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence and other written materials.
  • Current STATE driver’s license, proof of auto insurance and consistent and reliable usage of a motor vehicle.

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work Environment:

Employee must be able to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team model, interfacing and collaborating with a wide range of clinical and social services disciplines who work together to manage the PACE participants’ care. The work setting is in an Adult Day Health Center and primary care clinic environment with moderate noise levels and controlled temperatures.

Physical Requirements:

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Must be able to communicate with all staff, vendors, and clients. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination; the ability to use department equipment. Requires lifting/carrying up to 65lbs.and pushing or pulling 150lbs.using appropriate body mechanics and equipment, with reasonable accommodation if needed.

Visual, Hearing and Communication Requirements:

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to communicate by way of the telephone with participants, customers, vendors and staff.

Pressure Factor:

Requires working under stressful conditions. Working conditions may be noisy and crowded and fluctuating indoor temperatures. Moderate pressure to meet scheduled deadlines. Potential for exposure to verbal aggression by client, vendors, and staff.

Environmental Conditions:

May be exposed to a risk of bodily injury through contact with moving instrumentation, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, bodily fluids, communicable diseases and any other conditions common in a healthcare environment. Subject to unpleasant odors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Is responsible for the development and implementation of the Marketing plan and associated activities following State and Federal guidelines. Meets or exceeds census enrollment targets. 

Provides individual and group marketing presentations to potential referral sources. 

Maintains consistent, close contact with existing referral sources. Develops and cultivates new referral sources. Maintains customer focus and serves as primary community liaison. 

Maintains referral tracking system and mailing list as well as marketing files. 

In conjunction with the Corporate Public Relations and Marketing, develops annual marketing plan and all appropriate marketing materials, including newsletters, press releases and advertising. 

Participates in marketing activities, e.g. senior fairs, canvassing senior hi-rises, as developed in marketing plan. 

Plans and coordinates open houses/marketing events to enhance exposure for [Asian Heritage Healthcare] program 

Directs, supervises, and evaluates the Enrollment Specialist.

Substitutes for enrollment Specialist when necessary. 

Attends staff meetings and in-service training as required. 

Follows all [Asian Heritage Healthcare] Care Policies and Procedures and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety guidelines. 

Protects privacy and maintains confidentiality of all company procedures, results and information about employees, participants and families. 

Practices Universal precautions and follows appropriate Infection Control procedures. 

Maintains safe working environment. 

Participates in and supports the Quality Improvement initiatives. 

Participates in continuing education classes and any required staff and training meetings. 

Maintains professional affiliations and any required certifications. 

Performs other duties as required or requested.
